Oxbow Critical Care® Omnivore is a premium, calorically dense recovery food designed to support omnivores experiencing poor nutritional status due to illness, surgery, injury, or reduced appetite. Developed with veterinary input, this specialized formula provides short-term nutritional support when animals are unable or unwilling to consume their regular diet.
Formulated for a wide range of omnivorous species—including rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, hedgehogs, bearded dragons, chickens, and other omnivorous reptiles and birds—Critical Care Omnivore delivers a balanced blend of animal, plant, and insect-based nutrients. Highly digestible proteins, prebiotics, and chelated minerals support fast nutrient absorption, gut health, and immune function, while the calorie-dense profile provides essential energy for weak or emaciated pets.
The powdered formula mixes easily with water to create a smooth gruel for syringe feeding or a thicker consistency for bowl feeding, making it a versatile and palatable option for assisted care.
- Nutrient-Dense Formula: A diverse blend of animal, plant, and insect proteins with essential vitamins and chelated minerals for optimal absorption.
- High Caloric Density: Provides rapid energy to support recovery in weak or underweight animals.
- Supports Digestive Health: Contains prebiotics, including inulin, to promote beneficial gut bacteria and healthy digestion.
- Highly Palatable: Formulated to encourage intake in animals with reduced appetite.
- Easy to Prepare and Feed: Mixes with water for syringe feeding or dish feeding, depending on patient needs.
