The Baby Squirrel Care Guide comes in every kit (also available online) and helps you determine the age and condition of the squirrel. In addition to a shopping list of emergency items you can buy locally, the Guide includes a list of common medical issues to look out for, especially when dealing with orphaned babies who are almost always malnourished and severely dehydrated.

Caution: Fox Valley 20/50 is unsuitable for squirrels younger than 4 weeks - they cannot digest it properly. If you have a younger squirrel, select the Wombaroo Kit, which works wonders for pinkies through weaning.

Fox Valley 20/50 Formula provides squirrels the nutrition they need from 4 weeks of age through weaning. This rehabber-approved powdered milk formula produces better weight gain, fewer digestive problems, and better acceptance than other formulas. Fox Valley Formula 20/50 mixes easily, smells wonderful, and there is no need to supplement the formula with any added cream, yogurt, or probiotics. 

Fox Valley uses only high-quality human-grade ingredients to create milk replacers that closely match the specific composition of the mother’s milk, ensuring proper nutrition and growth.

The kit contains three 1 mL & three 3 mL CODAN O-Ring Syringes. Squirrels must be fed with a syringe so that you can control the flow of formula and keep them from eating too quickly or becoming aspirated on the formula. These syringes have a silicone O-ring that makes it easy to smoothly control the flow and avoid suddenly forcing too much formula into the baby’s mouth and choking them.

You will also receive 2 Easy-Grip Nipples. It is difficult to find nursing nipples small enough for squirrels and other small wildlife at conventional pet and farm supply stores. Made with food-grade silicone, Easy-Grip Nipples are specially designed for squirrels with a large kneading pad for their paws to grip onto and are odorless, sanitary, and more durable than latex nipples. The nipples are clear so you can monitor the flow of formula and easily check to see if they are properly cleaned.

Wombaroo Milk Replacer is a nutritionally-balanced milk replacer for squirrels. Wombaroo is specially formulated to match the mother squirrel’s milk composition and is easily digestible by even the youngest pinky squirrels. Wombaroo is a high-energy milk with high levels of fat and protein to support growth and weight gain. Wombaroo provides a variety of high-quality milk replacers made in Australia. Their team of experts has worked since 1984 to develop scientifically backed premium milk replacers and food for exotic animals.

Babies need a steady, reliable source of heat to remain safe and healthy. Our heating pads remain on overnight so you can rest assured the baby is warm and safe.
• A Cozy Pockets provides orphaned babies with a safe and snuggly hideout. Made with super-soft, animal-safe fleece, this padded pouch can either lay on its side or hang from the side of the cage by sturdy velcro tabs. The Cozy Pocket is the next best thing to cuddling with mom for little mammals.
