Description

The best option for baby squirrels from 4 weeks of age through weaning. Fox Valley Formula 20/50 is also ideal for flying squirrels, rats, and mice. This rehabber-approved powdered milk formula produces better weight gain, fewer digestive problems, and better acceptance than other formulas.

Fox Valley Formula 20/50 mixes easily, smells wonderful, and there is no need to supplement the formula with any added cream, yogurt, or probiotics.

Fox Valley Formulas

Henry’s is proud to partner with Fox Valley Animal Nutrition, a leading manufacturer of formula milk for endangered and orphaned animals. Fox Valley uses only high-quality human-grade ingredients to create milk replacers that closely match the specific composition of the mother’s milk in order to assure proper nutrition and growth.

Mixing and Storage Guidelines: Mix 1 part powder to 2 parts warm water and feed 4 to 6 times a day. To determine the correct amount, see guidelines below or visit the Baby Squirrel Care Guide. Gradually decrease both the quantity of milk formula and number of feedings per day as weaning approaches (around 16 weeks).

  • Add powder to warm water (approx. 100°F).
  • Blend until powder is dispersed in water.
  • Feed soon after mixing.
  • Mixing directions are based on volume, not weight, measurements.
  • Store any leftover formula in the refrigerator and feed within 24 hours.

Unused formula powder should be stored in a cool dry place, preferably the refrigerator, and is good until the expiration date printed on the back of the bag.

7% Feeding Rule: Weigh the baby on a scale in grams; multiply that number by 7% (0.07) to determine the number of mL’s to feed per feeding. You may need to start with smaller feedings at first and work up to 7% after a few feedings, especially for emaciated babies.
