Oxbow Critical Care® Fine Grind Herbivore is a premium, high-fiber, calorically dense recovery food formulated to support herbivorous animals experiencing poor nutritional status due to illness, surgery, injury, or reduced appetite. Developed with veterinary input, this specialized formula is designed for short-term nutritional support when animals are unable or unwilling to consume their normal diet, with an ultra-fine texture ideal for assisted feeding.
Formulated for a wide range of herbivorous species—including rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, tortoises, iguanas, and other herbivorous reptiles—Critical Care Fine Grind delivers a balanced blend of timothy hay, essential vitamins, and minerals to support proper gut physiology and overall recovery. The ultra-fine particle size allows the formula to flow smoothly through nasogastric feeding tubes as small as 5 French and makes it easier to use with small syringes, reducing clogging during administration. Stabilized vitamin C supports species-specific needs, while prebiotics and chelated minerals promote healthy digestion, nutrient absorption, and immune function. Available in a naturally flavored papaya variety.
- Extra-Fine Grind: Features a significantly finer texture than standard Critical Care®, allowing for smoother preparation and delivery.
- Designed for Tube Feeding: Consistent flow through nasogastric feeding tubes as small as 5 French helps minimize clogs during assisted feeding.
- Easy Syringe Use: Works well with small-capacity syringes (including 1 ml) thanks to the absence of large fiber particles.
- Naturally Flavored Papaya: A gentle, naturally flavored option that is often more appealing to selective or reluctant eaters.

Store unopened product in a cool, dry place. Once opened, the powder remains viable for up to 30 days when kept tightly sealed in a cool, dry location. Mixed product must be refrigerated and used within 24 hours. Allow refrigerated product to reach room temperature before feeding.
- Intended for short-term use only.
