Looking Ahead

A few dates and seasonal reminders worth keeping on your radar.

  • Squirrel Appreciation Day — January 21, 2026 🐿️
  • National Moose Day — January 25, 2026 🫎

As winter comes to an end, seasonal wildlife patterns begin to shift. Opossum and bear babies may start arriving as early as February, which means the next rehabilitation season isn’t far off. This is a good time for wildlife supporters to keep the months ahead in mind and be prepared.

Fun Fact of the Month

Mother squirrels don’t rely on just one nest. They build several and will move their babies if a nest is damaged or no longer safe.
