    Description

Ideal for Eastern cottontails, opossums and baby squirrels from 2 weeks to 4 weeks of age*.

Fox Valley Formula 32/40 is a rehabber-approved powdered milk formula that produces better weight gain, fewer digestive problems, and better acceptance than most other formulas. Fox Valley Formula 32/40 mixes easily, smells wonderful, and there is no need to supplement the formula with any added cream, yogurt, or probiotics.

*For feeding babies under 2 weeks old, use Wombaroo Squirrel Milk Replacer  or the Homemade Goat Milk Formula from the recipe available in our Baby Squirrel Care Guide.

Recommended for species with similar milk compositions: woodchuck, badger.

Mix 1 part powder to 2 parts warm water and feed 4 to 6 times a day. To determine the correct feeding amount, see guidelines below or visit the Baby Squirrel Care Guide.

    • Add powder to warm water (approximately 100°F or 37.7°C).
    • Blend until powder is evenly mixed.
    • Place in refrigerator for approximately 8 hours to fully reconstitute.
    • Mixing directions are based on volume, not weight measurements.
    • Store any leftover formula in refrigerator and feed within 24 hours.

Unused formula powder should be stored in a cool, dry place, preferably the refrigerator, and is good until the expiration date printed on the label.

    For Squirrels

Not recommended for squirrels younger than 2 weeks. Use Wombaroo Squirrel Milk Replacer instead.

5-7% Feeding Rule: Weigh the baby on a scale in grams; multiply that number by 5% (0.05) to determine the number of mL’s to feed per feeding. You may need to start with smaller feedings and work up to 5% after a few feedings. Once the baby is eating well and able to digest 5% quickly, you can gradually move up to feeding them 7% at a time. Please review the Baby Squirrel Care Guide or call a rehabber for advice on caring for young orphaned squirrels. At 5 weeks of age, gradually switch to Fox Valley Formula 20/50.
